  14. Purse - Leather Purse, Tybee Regatta, First Place Prize 1890

    Leather purse from Tybee Regatta, Savannah, Georgia. Gold lettering on front "2d. Annual Interstate Tybee Regatta, 1st. Prize $300.00" Pilot Boat Captain Duncan Wright of the St. Simons Bar won the Second Annual Tybee Pennant race for pilot boats in 1890 aboard "Gracie." The award was $300.00.

    Woman's finger ring, gold with opal and emerald stones. Ring belonged to William Armstrong Postell's mother, Anne Armstrong Cater Postell. Anne was the wife of James Pettigrew Postell. Kelvin Grove Plantation, St. Simons Island, Georgia. The ring has two opals in the center with prongs where a third opal is missing. There are two small emeralds above and two small emeralds below the opals.
